Gypsy Vanners originated in the United Kingdom, and as the name suggests, were bred by the Romany people, better known as Gypsies or Travelers. They were used for everything, but they are most well-known for pulling the elaborate Gypsy Vans.
An article written by my mom was featured in the October issue of Horse Previews Magazine.
A breed description for the Gypsy Cob and Drum Horse Association can be found at www.gcdha.com. A breed description for the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society can be found at www.vanners.org .
